Is it time to replace or is it just jammed?

I have an automatic garage door for 5 years and recently it starts to open and then closes. Is it jammed or does it need replacing?

    Hi Michael,

Based on what you have mentioned it sounds like there could be a number if issues with the door, however, in order to better identify the problem we would need to know what kind of door and open/close mechanism you are dealing with.

Do you have sensors by the entrance? If so they could be blocked by something which could confuse the sensor. Another possibility is that there is an issue with the motor itself which would probably just require one of our technicians to make a quick repair.

I don’t think it is wise to try to work on the motor yourself. Even though it seems like it would be an easy thing to fix yourself, you may wind up causing even more damage to the motor. As long as the motor is working, even at a minimal level, it is still worth trying to salvage.

One of our technicians would gladly come over (at a convenient hour for you) and fix the problem within a short period of time; and you’ll be on your way! (With time to get to work on time)

Even what seems like a slight problem could lead to some major damage if not dealt with at an early stage. Our technicians are all qualified and insured, which is good news for you and your garage!
